College Informational Webinars – College Starter
Hello Downstate Family!
We understand it hard to be seen by coaches right now but that time will come but what else can we help you with? After meeting with many of you we realize that we need to try and find more resources for you.
We are so excited to announce two upcoming free webinars specifically hosted for the DAC families by a local college counselor and advisor, Jeffrey Hirsch. You will find more information in the email attachments, and we really hope you mark your calendar for the two upcoming dates to join the webinars and learn more about the college application process and the importance of recommendation letters, among other topics. No matter what age your child is, this is beneficial information which will hopefully make the journey easier.
Jeffrey comes to Downstate through Danielle Della Pella, who’s daughter Kailyn Reilly, is a junior and is now beginning the college process. Her son worked very closely with Jeff during his application process – and thanks to Jeff’s recommendation to apply Early Decision II to Lehigh University, he was accepted!
Please read through the information and let me know if you have any questions. We hope you can join the webinar this month and next.

JEFF HIRSCH has worked in the educational field for the last fifteen years as a college counselor and teacher. In New York City and Westchester County, he has had the opportunity to work with a diverse population of high school students, giving him the unique expertise to guide students through the college admissions process.
College Starter was born from the idea that one-on-one college counseling should be simplified, stress-reducing and flexible to ensure that students are producing the highest quality college applications. Jeff’s ultimate goal is to help students find, apply and get accepted to right-fit, four-year colleges without giving away their senior year to the process.
He is currently a school counselor at a high school in Westchester County, NY.
Thank you
